I have been interested in selling on eBay since July, 2000. I started selling a few things and got distracted by home repairs and family. I started selling again about six months ago and decided to get serious about starting an eBay Business. The first thing that I did was buy products on eBay that I needed. It made sense to me. I would get a better deal than if I paid retail at a locate Retail Store. I learned quickly that if you need something and don’t want to pay retail, you should buy it on eBay. I saved my money and used it for more important thing like bills. One thing that I did not expect was to get hooked on buying and selling things on eBay. What a Rush!

My plan moving forward is to keep and updated Blog on what I’m doing on eBay and how my selling is going. I will share my story with you as I go. Good or Bad, I don’t plan to make it something that it’s not, but I do plan on telling you the facts. We hear so much about eBay these days. How many times have you heard someone say “Why Don’t You Sell It On eBay”? One thing that I have learned already is that you can list pretty much anything on eBay. The question is will someone buy it from you. Let me tell you my friend, eBay will charge for listing your items for sale. They will get their money rather you sell your item or not. With all fairness to eBay, they charge a small fee for what you may get in return. Where else can you place something for sale and have millions of people go to that selling format and bid on items everyday. It’s a pretty good deal.

When I decided to start selling items on eBay, I figured I would need a small scale to calculate how much postage to charge. I went to Target, Wal-Mart, and Kmart to price a small scale. Guess where I found the best deal. You got it, I found one on eBay for $17.00 and that included shipping. I saved about $20.00 by not buying it at a retail stores. I probably used the savings for gas money. But hey, if you look at it that way, I got $20.00 worth of free gas. Oh yea, you really don’t have to have a scale, the post office will tell you how much to charge for shipping. All you need to do is give them your item before you list it for sale on eBay. Well got to go and I will fill you in soon with my latest eBay adventures. I can’t wait to tell you about some of my deals and my new eBay Store.

I sold some Harley Davidson Lighters over the weekend. I didn’t do very well selling them. I broke even, not really worth working hard to break even, but I have to keep trying. I also sold a vintage item out of my store. I didn’t break even on that, in fact I lost money. Do I throw in the towel or keep on going? Your right, I’m going to keep moving forward. I figure that soon or later, I’m going to find some items that are profitable. Let’s put it this way, I’m not going to get rich but I’m going to have a lot of fun thinking that I am. I forgot, I also sold a pair of pants over the weekend and I actually made a few dollars. If I add that to the vintage item that I sold I’m back to even again. Hey it’s better than being in the Red. I plan on listing more pants this weekend, I hope that you can stop by my store and see what is new. Please don’t hesitate to give me suggestions. That’s why I’m doing this I’m hoping to get some good ideas from others that are interested in eBay. Well got to go and hope to talk to you tomorrow.
